Rock Island Arsenal Defense Alliance grows defense industry in the QC

Significant progress and developments have taken place over the past four years to enhance and grow the defense industry in the Quad Cities. The Rock Island Arsenal Defense Alliance (RIADA) advocated for RIA's designation as the Army’s Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM COE) and securing the funds for the world’s largest metal 3D printer.

One of the defining features of summer in the Quad Cities is the John Deere Classic. For volunteers, JDC employees - and vendors, of course - this event marks one of the busiest times of the year and gives a significant economic boost to local businesses.
For several local companies, being a JDC vendor is not only good for business, it’s both fun and fulfilling. Whitey's, Uncommon Ground and Edwards Creative continue to support the Classic and have become fan favorites in their own right.

Ranews Companies expands in QC, $33.7M impact

Ranews Companies, a Georgia-based manufacturer known for its “Product Solutions” philosophy is celebrating its Quad Cities expansion into Davenport. Company officials joined Quad Cities Chamber leaders in a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, June 18, at the Ranews plant at 8360 Research Drive in the Eastern Iowa Industrial Center.
River Cities Engineering celebrates 20th anniversary and expansion

River Cities Engineering commemorated its 20th anniversary and expansion into a new building with a ribbon cutting on June 13. The new building provides the company with 10,000 additional square feet. Ten new jobs were created, with a total number of employees at 60. The new location at 323 Research Parkway in Davenport, is the site of the former Humvee dealership. The move marks a significant milestone for River Cities - providing the company with ample space for its panel shop and room for a new training center.
