Leadership QC cohort fosters collaborative solutions, drives positive change

Over the past 9 months, members of the Chamber's Leadership QC cohort have been refining their leadership skills and working to create positive community change. Through purposeful conversations, panel discussions and collaborative projects, the rising leaders gained a greater perspective on and investigated meaningful solutions to critical issues in our region. Through the program, the cohort connected with experienced Quad Citizens representing leadership roles in local businesses, nonprofit and government organizations. 

"The Leadership QC cohort learning experience is something I will take with me throughout my career and life," said Angela Campbell of the Rock Island Library. "The guest speakers were engaging, and the projects we worked on were impactful. I made a lot of new connections in the community that I may never have if it weren't for this immersive learning opportunity."

Cohort members were placed into groups and tasked with developing potential solutions to issues currently facing the region, such as affordable housing, access to mental health care and K-12 educational opportunities. The groups used their enriched perspectives to present solutions to their cohort at the program’s final gathering last week. 

Joan Kranovich, Visit Quad Cities, said she thought the program was a great way to expand her knowledge on the challenges in the Quad Cities and how current leadership and organizations are addressing these issues. "The program has helped me continue my leadership journey and equipped me with new contacts and relationships that will be beneficial for many years to come," she added. 

"Leadership QC has been an incredible journey of growth and collaboration," said James Porter, Vice President, Talent & Inclusion for the Chamber. "It's inspiring to witness participants not only develop their skills, but also form connections that will drive positive change in their careers and communities. Leadership QC is about empowering individuals to lead with purpose and passion, and the impact is already evident."
