Chamber, partners deliver Amazon project to QC

The Quad Cities Chamber works with a variety of companies on relocating to or expanding in the region. Find information below on the business attraction and expansion projects the team worked on in the second quarter of 2021 as well as some highlights of our recent successes.

Successful Projects

Amazon

Amazon to open robotics fulfillment center in Quad Cities

  • Amazon announced plans in July to build a robotics fulfillment center in the Eastern Iowa Industrial Center (EIIC) in Davenport. Amazon will invest $250 million in the facility and equipment and create 1,000 jobs.
  • The project marked the largest economic development project for the number of jobs created in the Chamber's history.
  • The successful project was the result of a partnership between the Quad Cities Chamber, the City of Davenport, and the Greater Davenport Redevelopment Corp., a non-profit organization that owns the available sites in the EIIC.
  • Total annual economic impact: $147,994,239

There are a total of 88 projects to date for FY21 compared to 54 for the same period last year.

Quad Cities Chamber staff received 57 requests for information and completed 30 proposals. In addition, staff hosted seven site visits with company representatives.
