Amazon to open robotics fulfillment center in Quad Cities
- Amazon announced plans in July to build a robotics fulfillment center in the Eastern Iowa Industrial Center (EIIC) in Davenport. Amazon will invest $250 million in the facility and equipment and create 1,000 jobs.
- The project marked the largest economic development project for the number of jobs created in the Chamber's history.
- The successful project was the result of a partnership between the Quad Cities Chamber, the City of Davenport, and the Greater Davenport Redevelopment Corp., a non-profit organization that owns the available sites in the EIIC.
