RIA’s total defense spending in QC region tops $532 million

The economic impact the Rock Island Arsenal has on our region is massive. During our most recent Legislative Event, Matthew Herrmann, Senior Advisor with The Roosevelt Group, provided insights and updates on the Rock Island Arsenal Defense Alliance (RIADA) legislative priorities, which align the activities at Rock Island Arsenal with the National Defense Strategy and Army modernization priorities.  

Herrmann said the Rock Island Arsenal's total defense spending in the QC totals $532 million. The Arsenal supports an estimated 5,170 direct jobs in the region which result in an additional $313 million in ripple effects, including another 2,340 QC jobs. State and local tax revenues from defense-related spending are $23 million. Watch the entire virtual presentation below.
