Logistics Update Q3 2020

Logistics Trends

Drivers:

  • Strong growth in household e-commerce continues to be a driving factor for growth in the warehouse and distribution industry.
  • The market for last-mile uses continues to grow as customer expectations for faster ship times increase, and the nature of both build-to-suit and redevelopment/repurposing projects continues to evolve.
  • The Quad Cities region’s location within one-day trucking distance of 37 million people and its access to multi-modal transportation positions the region for growth as a distribution hub.

Drawbacks:

  • There continues to be a shortage of truck drivers, making it sometimes difficult for companies to transport goods to their customers.
