Project Update Q3 2022

The Quad Cities Chamber works with a variety of companies on relocating to or expanding in the region. Find information below on the business attraction and expansion projects the team worked on in the third quarter of 2022 and some highlights of our recent successes.

Midland Davis – Project Snapdragon

  • In August 2021, Midland Davis asked for the Chamber’s assistance in identifying properties to accommodate an expansion of its operations. The company chose a Rock Island location where they now occupy 27,000 square feet of space, added 10 new jobs and invested approximately $250,000 in new equipment, tools, and vehicles/trailers. This new division allows the company to repair, reconstruct and sell refurbished wood pallets to commercial customers. The Chamber also provided introductions to multiple workforce partners, potential new customers and IMEC for operational and training support.
  • Midland Davis created 10 jobs at this location and the expansion will have an annual economic impact of $2.2 million.

Project stats

There are a total of 20 projects to date for FY23 (started July 1) compared to 29 for the same period last year. In addition, staff hosted two site visits with the company representatives.
