Statement on Governor JB Pritzker’s Budget & State of the Address

On Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker presented the Budget & State of the State address to a joint session of the Illinois General Assembly, touching on issues that are top priorities for the Quad Cities business community. The Quad Cities Chamber is providing the following statements in response to the address. 

Housing

The Quad Cities Chamber is excited to hear Gov. Pritzker’s emphasis on implementing his ad-hoc committee report on missing-middle housing. The Chamber helped to introduce legislation to create a pilot program, the Middle-Income Housing Grant, based on one of the report’s findings and we look forward to moving that legislation forward this session.

Site Readiness

Gov. Pritzker’s focus and emphasis on economic development rings true to Quad Citizens. His budget proposes half a billion dollars toward site readiness and the Illinois Quad Cities is ready to put that money to work bringing new investment to the region.
