GA Update

The Quad Cities Chamber and a delegation of 18 community leaders are traveling to Washington, D.C., April 14-16, for a series of meetings with federal lawmakers and key stakeholders. The Chamber will advocate for the Quad Cities business community and advance priorities that support local economic development, initiatives within our 2026 Federal Legislative Agenda.

White papers and economic development requests will be shared with the bi-state Congressional delegation. Business advocacy efforts will focus on federal permitting reform, bipartisan immigration reform and trade tariffs. The delegation will make funding requests for development of utility-ready manufacturing sites, projects at the Rock Island Arsenal and the Federal Surface Transportation program, including Quad Cities Passenger Rail.

This annual trip is a great opportunity for Chamber members to share the Quad Cities’ unique regional perspectives with federal lawmakers. "While these trips are important for sharing our perspective, they are also important for listening and learning how we may better collaborate at the federal level," said Elizabeth Tanner, Executive Director, Government Affairs at the Chamber.
