Businesses across the region interested in providing the goods and services Amazon needs to keep its internal businesses running in the QC and across its network can register to be a potential supply partner.

Supply partners fuel the indirect supply chain by providing non-inventory goods and services to Amazon, such as packaging, professional services, equipment, information technology, construction materials and services, and maintenance, repair and operations. According to Amazon’s Supplier Connect website, the company seeks supply partners who have a passion for innovation, demonstrate social responsibility, value diversity and inclusion, and are committed to a sustainable future.

Construction on the 2.9 million-square-foot Amazon Robotic Fulfillment Center in the QC is underway. Approximately 30 companies in the region are serving as vendors and providing construction goods and services. The fulfillment center is expected to employ more than 1,000 workers throughout the region, hiring which is expected to begin this summer. The project will have an annual $148 million economic impact in the region.

The project was announced in July 2021, just eight months after a national site consultant contacted the Quad Cities Chamber seeking information and assistance in securing a location.

Businesses interested in becoming a supply partner can sign up online to register and complete an online assessment. Amazon will review and reach out if an opportunity becomes available, according to its website.
