New Leadership QC program launches
One of the new programs the Quad Cities Chamber is launching to amplify our Talent Attraction and Development efforts is Leadership QC.
Applications are now being accepted for this 9-month leadership program. Leadership QC is a program for experienced community leaders and innovative thinkers who want to enhance their individual leadership skills. Leadership QC participants will work collectively to develop business-oriented solutions to challenges that impact our region’s workforce.
“Leadership QC will bring together a diverse group of our region’s leaders, that maybe wouldn’t normally work together or collaborate, to discuss and resolve issues that affect all of us that live and work in the community,” said Emily Codling, the Chamber’s Talent Manager. “There will be guest speakers, guided discussions and actionable goal setting, all to grow their skills as leaders in their business or organization and to increase their commitment to the place we all call home.”
Dr. LaDrina Wilson with IMAN Consulting has been hired to help develop and lead the program. "Leadership QC is an opportunity for dynamic leaders from all sectors to come together to learn more about our community, to develop and refine their leadership skills and to collaborate across sectors and industries to tackle some of the area's biggest challenges,” said Wilson. “It's my hope that we cultivate a generation of leaders that are connected and inspired to step out of their comfort zone to make the Quad Cities region a community all citizens are proud to call home."
An advisory council of community leaders helped create the Leadership QC program and are excited to launch the effort.
As Matt Rebro, Vice President for Russell Construction and an advisory council member explained, “Many successful businesses are a byproduct of the communities in which they live, work and play. Strong businesses also thrive because their leaders push Corporate Social Responsibility.”
“One method of enhancing your leadership skills is by surrounding yourself with a diverse group of citizens who are also dedicated to our community, engage, ask thoughtful questions and welcome alternative perspectives,” said Rebro. “Leadership QC is that unique experience that can help you and our community thrive and be the place that our current and future workforce seeks out as a place to advance their lives.”
