Bettendorf State of City Address

On Wednesday, Feb. 21, Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher delivered the 2024 State of the City address. Many of the initiatives he highlighted align with the Chamber’s local legislative agenda including:

  • Encouraging long-term planning and growth
  • Promoting redevelopment and revitalization of blighted neighborhoods
  • Promoting housing development at all price levels

“Bettendorf continues to grow and invest in transformational projects that benefit the entire Quad Cities,” said Ryan Sempf, Executive Director of Government Affairs for the Chamber. “The TBK Bank and Sports Complex’s $230 million impact continues to grow and the City has announced new goals for the area of town west of I-74. We’re excited to see what the future holds for Bettendorf and the region," Sempf said.

In addition to these developments, Mayor Gallagher also discussed more than 150 new single-family starts, investments in bike trails, family-friendly amenities and a rising bond rating. The City has plans to sustain strong population growth and maintain low taxes and a strong business climate.
