LMT Defense expands operations in Eldridge, adding jobs and investment in the Quad Cities
LMT Defense, a leading manufacturer of defense products for the U.S. Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies worldwide, is expanding its footprint in the Quad Cities. The company will establish a new 7,500-square-foot plating and coating facility adjacent to its current Eldridge location.
The $5.5 million investment, supported by a $300,000 forgivable loan through Iowa's High Quality Job (HQJ) Program, will create 34 new jobs at a quality wage of $24.97 per hour. The expansion will also advance LMT Defense’s production capabilities with a modern, zero-emissions operation that enhances efficiency and broadens product offerings.
Karl Lewis, founder and president of LMT Defense, emphasized the company’s commitment to growth and opportunity in the region. “We’re continually hiring and looking for new team members and looking for talented individuals ready to make an impact,” he said.
"LMT is a great example of a local company focused on growth," said Chris Caves, Vice President, Business Retention & Expansion, Workforce for Grow Quad Cities. "We're pleased to see this company leverage all state and local economic development relationships and tools to expand their facilities and grow their operations," she added.
The project strengthens the Quad Cities’ advanced manufacturing sector, bringing new jobs and innovative technology to the region while reinforcing the area’s position as a hub for defense-related production.
