In recognition of Juneteenth
Today marks an important holiday. Juneteenth is a day to celebrate the end of slavery in the U.S. and a good day to reflect on the realities of our world, acknowledge that Black lives matter and resolve to do something about inequities in our lives - not just from centuries ago, but that continue to exist today.
In 2019, the Quad Cities Chamber board adopted a diversity, equity and inclusion statement to propel our organization’s journey to help create a prosperous economy where all can thrive. As we facilitate business growth, our intent is not to just serve some businesses, but to serve all area businesses to foster their growth and success. We’ve continued our journey by establishing a framework to guide the implementation of our work. We are committed to improve our internal organizational competencies, service to businesses and community impact by integrating diversity, equity and inclusion principles throughout all we do.
Please take a moment to consider what you can do today to address inequities in your business and the Quad Cities community. Your action will improve our community and help achieve the Q2030 regional vision.
