Securing a government contract can be a game changer for small business owners looking to scale, but the complex process and stringent requirements often discourage many from pursuing what could be a transformative opportunity.

That’s why the Quad Cities Chamber incorporated a hands-on workshop into the Minority Business Summit, giving small business owners and entrepreneurs direct access to the insights, tools and connections needed to compete in the public sector. Attendees walked away with actionable guidance on the procurement process, identifying contract opportunities and understanding certifications such as Women Business Enterprise (WBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and veteran-owned designations. The session also covered common pitfalls businesses encounter when going through the certification and bidding process.

The Small and Minority Business Department at the Quad Cities Chamber is here to advocate for and provide access to opportunities that help local businesses and entrepreneurs stay informed and ready to compete.

If you missed the Summit or would like to learn more, there are new opportunities on the horizon that serve as a great next step and introduction to government contracting:
