What we're watching this week:

  • On this day in legislative history, in 1860, Abraham Lincoln made a speech at Cooper Institute in New York City, stating that Congress had the moral duty and constitutional power to exclude slavery from the territories. We find this fact fitting as we close out of Black History Month.

  • In Illinois, we are monitoring new information on Business Improvement Districts.

  • In Iowa, numerous committee and sub-committee meetings were held in preparation for the first funnel deadline on Friday, March 3.

  • Join us for our advocacy trip to Springfield on March 3.
