Chamber weighs in on Canadian-Pacific merger

In its continuing mission to represent a diverse network of businesses, the Quad Cities Chamber views the Canadian Pacific Railway and Kansas City Southern Railway merger as an opportunity to bring increased commerce, economic development and resources to our region. We are keenly aware of safety and accessibility concerns regarding the substantial increase in freight traffic.

Since 2021, the Chamber has listened to and consulted with local business executives and government officials to explore the best avenues of mitigation for this traffic increase. We will continue to monitor the situation, respond as needed and work with individual businesses as they address safety concerns.
