QC Engineering Co. is named Business of the Year and the Quad Cities Chamber Annual Meeting 2022

The Quad Cities Chamber on Thursday honored Quad City Engineering Co., Inc., as the Business of the Year at its 2022 Annual Meeting presented by TBK Bank.

Quad City Engineering, based in East Moline, is a design and tool manufacturing company that serves local and national customers through 3-D design and build of tooling, dies, welding, fabrication and small-run production. The company, established in 1944, continues to play an integral role in the QC community.

It serves regional businesses including Deere & Company, McLaughlin Body Company, Johnson Contracting Co., and George Evans Co., to name a few. It supports other QC businesses, utilizing them as suppliers. Owners Jeff and Julie Hagmeier, and their team of 25 highly-skilled employees, strengthen the region through involvement and investment in local events and organizations.

Focused and committed to quality, service, delivery and technical support, Quad City Engineering helps its clients improve manufacturing processes and output. Responding to its significant growth in the past 18 months, the Hagmeier’s made a large investment in the East Moline facility and in serving its employees, striving to be the employer of choice. It also expanded its operations to a second location.

“We were very surprised to learn we were going to be honored as the Business of the Year,” said Jeff Hagmeier, who serves as President and CEO. “It is important to note it is our employees who are the drivers behind our company. They rally on a day-to-day basis and lead our success. We are very happy for our team.”

Quad City Engineering has been an active member of the Chamber, sharing its story with the membership and turning to the Chamber team for guidance and connections. An introduction to the Illinois Manufacturing Extension Center provided the company with a resource and support in its efforts to achieve ISO 9001 certification. And Quad City Engineering continues to welcome information and updates about state and federal programs that can help it achieve its goals.

“We value our employees, and we are partners with our customers and community. Investing in QCE will only make us stronger for the future of our company,” Hagmeier added.

Quad City Engineering was selected among a pool of nominations for the award based on its demonstration of competitive advantages, consistent growth and investment, innovation and contributions to improving the region.
