On Thursday, March 7, East Moline Mayor Reggie Freeman delivered the 2024 State of the City address, highlighting key accomplishments and priorities from the past year. The City has concentrated its efforts on several areas including downtown revitalization, attracting top talent, addressing community issues, preparing for development and strengthening regional partnerships.

East Moline has committed to revitalizing its downtown by using its Federal RAISE Grant to create a safe and convenient connection to the Bend. The City has also made substantial investments in hiring a diverse and talented City workforce, and has establishied new funds and programs to combat blight and enhance public infrastructure. Mayor Freeman emphasized the City's readiness for development, as evidenced by its investments in residential housing, upcoming businesses, a new business development district, a potential TIF district, a C-PACE area and a small business loan program. C-PACE designations allow financing options for private and nonprofit property owners for energy efficiency, green energy or renewable energy projects. The mayor expressed confidence in the City's commitment to supporting development with a range of available tools.

East Moline's cohesive plan aligns with the Chamber's priorities, focusing on investments in downtown and riverfront amenities as well as attracting new businesses to the area. The Chamber enthusiastically supports East Moline's self-investment and its contribution to making the Quad Cities a thriving place for its residents.
