Chamber seeks input for Public Policy Survey; conducts roundtables
Each fall, the Quad Cities Chamber asks members to complete a brief survey to gain insights on the issues facing the business community. The FY2025 Public Policy Survey aims to get to the heart of what the business community finds valuable and necessary in the areas of economic growth, quality of place, talent attraction and more.
"The information obtained from the survey will help inform our Advocacy Council as we make decisions throughout the year," said Ryan Sempf, Executive Director, Government Affairs. " We encourage all our members to take this opportunity to let us know what they would like us to focus on this year so we can ensure the Quad Cities region continues to grow and thrive in an increasingly competitive business and regulatory environment."
In advance of issuing the survey and to better understand these needs, the Chamber hosted 50 local executives and business owners at roundtable events to discuss the future of the Quad Cities and the 2025 agenda. Topics discussed included the need to promote a pro-growth, pro-business tax environment; promoting child care as a workforce issue; investing in local infrastructure and multi-modal capacity and a desire to advocate for a more consistent and predictable regulatory environment for business.
“The Chamber is the only community-wide organization focused on economic growth through the public policy lens," said Bob Howard, CBI Bank, who attended the roundtable discussions. "The opportunity to share our perspective and hear from other leaders in the Quad Cities shows that the Chamber represents our local needs. As a member of the Chamber’s Business Advocacy Council, it's important that we hear from the broader business community as we determine what to focus on next year.”
Our sponsorship campaign has started for the Chamber's 2025 legislative event series, which includes trips to both state capitols. Sponsorship opportunities are now available for businesses who want to get their name in front of policy makers and community leaders.
The Chamber has room for more members to join the Business Advocacy Council to help drive business community priorities over the finish line. The group helps to develop the final legislative agenda, organizes events and actively joins advocacy efforts throughout the year. Business input and engagement are the foundation of our work with policy makers.
