On Tuesday, November 18, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds traveled to the Quad Cities to meet with city, county, school and business leaders from across Scott County at an invitation-only event hosted by the Chamber. The discussion centered on opportunities to reform Iowa's property tax system ahead of the 2026 legislative session.

Quad Cities Chamber and Grow Quad Cities President & CEO Peter Tokar III issued the following statement following the discussion:

“We thank Governor Reynolds for taking the time to meet with us to discuss property tax reform. She has always been willing to listen, and we were honored to help host this cross-sector discussion. Property tax reform is complex, with so many different impacts from municipal budgets, the competitiveness of development and the sustainability of existing businesses and homeowners – because property taxes touch everything.”

Representatives from the business community, including large employers and small business, city, county and school districts; and individuals from the farming community joined the discussion to help guide the vision for property tax reform.
