Chamber commends Moline Mayor Rayapati’s future-focused State of the City address
The Quad Cities Chamber commends Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati for a future-focused State of the City address. The Mayor discussed several topics relevant to the Chamber’s Local Legislative Agenda, including reducing the housing deficit by supporting the development of housing at all price points and engaging with and supporting modernization of infrastructure benefitting economic development efforts and quality of life.
Highlights of Mayor Rayapati’s address included:
- Addressing housing scarcity by modifying zoning policies and highlighting development incentives for different types of residential development
- Discussing infrastructure upgrades, with 39% of the budget allocated to capital projects
- Respecting local taxpayers with modest budget growth year-over-year
- Updating the Comprehensive Plan to prepare proactively for Moline’s future
- Touting new business opportunities such as the River’s Edge Redevelopment Zone and small business programming coming in 2026
