Chamber celebrates Small Business Week by supporting the entrepreneurs who power the QC economy
Over 34 million small businesses across the U.S. employ almost half of all American workers. Here in the Quad Cities, small businesses are just as vital, and the Chamber is proud to celebrate these entrepreneurs who sustain our region.
In support of National Small Business Week (May 5-9), the Chamber, along with the cities of Bettendorf, Davenport, East Moline, Moline and Rock Island, and Rock Island and Scott Counties, issued proclamations recognizing the importance of small businesses in our communities. These proclamations were presented to several outstanding local leaders:
- Scott Florence, owner, Great River Brewery - City of Davenport
- Luke Schiltz, owner, Errand Boys - City of East Moline
- Taylor Love, owner, Pioneer Improvement - City of Rock Island
- Josh O'Dell, owner of O'Dell's Heating & Air - Rock Island County
- Alyson Weir, owner of Style Encore, Plato's Closet & Disc Replay - Scott County
Recognition is just one way we support small businesses. Year-round, the Chamber hosts ribbon cuttings, milestone events and grand openings to celebrate the achievements of local entrepreneurs. We also provide resources and advocate for policies that help small businesses thrive.
Want to support small businesses this week? It's easy:
- Shop local. Whether it’s coffee, a contractor or a birthday gift—choose a local business.
- Engage online. Like, comment and share posts from your favorite small businesses.
- Spread the word - in person. Encourage others to support small businesses during Small Business Week and beyond.
