The Chamber has created two new Advocacy Councils to strengthen our efforts and the conversations we will have with local, state and federal elected officials. Regional business leaders, experts in their respective sectors, are providing us guidance in the policy arena as members of the Mobility & Infrastructure Council and the Tax & Regulation Council.

The members will serve as a sounding board in these areas, share their perspectives and expertise, and inform our work as we prepare and work our way through the 2023 legislative sessions in Illinois and Iowa. These volunteers are not advocating for their respective businesses but for policies that ensure the QC becomes a prosperous regional economy where all can thrive.

The Councils are slated to meet quarterly; however, their busiest months will likely be January through April when state legislators are in session and new laws and policies are proposed and evolving.

The Tax & Regulation Council will help the Chamber frame and speak to favorable business policies that will lead to a thriving QC regional economy. Members include:

  • Pryce Boeye, The Hungry Hobo
  • Amy Crist, TBK Bank
  • Scott Park, Genesis Foundation
  • Mike Poster, St. Ambrose University
  • Matthew Pappas, Pappas Wright, P.C.

The Mobility & Infrastructure Council will provide guidance and feedback on all modes of transportation. Members include:

  • Alexandra Elias, Renew Moline
  • Ben Leischner, Quad Cities International Airport
  • Matt Mendenhall, Regional Development Authority
  • Marla Miller, Citibus
  • Jeff Nelson, MetroLINK

In addition, the Chamber team will seek feedback from the Talent Development Advisory Council when needed, as those members can provide first-hand perspectives from their respective fields in education, workforce and talent.
