Solving QC community challenges impacting our workforce

Leadership QC is a program for experienced community leaders and innovative thinkers who want to enhance their leadership skills. Cohort participants work collectively to develop business-oriented solutions to challenges that impact our workforce.

Meeting once a month, we orient participants to our region’s issues as they work together across organizations/corporations to create innovative approaches to solution-finding and support. Focused on corporate social responsibility, Leadership QC members gain a broader perspective, collaborative approach and deeper commitment to the role they can play in building a prosperous regional economy where all can thrive.

Leadership QC is facilitated by Iman Consulting in partnership with the Quad Cities Chamber.

The form to apply is at the bottom of this page.

Over nine months this cohort will:

  • Define, refine and enhance leadership skills through practical application.
  • Develop a greater understanding of issues most important to our region.
  • Work together to create solutions and create the positive change needed to improve our region’s quality of life.
  • Teach, learn and demonstrate corporate social responsibility.
  • Build relationships with other area leaders from multiple sectors throughout our six-county region.
  • Develop a network of diverse leaders who pay it forward and give back to leaders who come after them.

Leadership QC is designed for established professionals with leadership skills and a track record of community involvement. They are committed to strengthening our region through engagement. Learn more about the Leadership QC program and our first cohort.

Core values of the program

A community with a common goal is rooted in principles, beliefs and attitudes that align to support the execution of the common goal. In the Quad Cities region, we aspire to create a community where all members can grow, thrive and experience prosperity in a way that is meaningful to them.  We also hope to inspire a generation of community servants and leaders who will leave an indelible mark on this community that will be experienced by generations to come. Our actions to achieve these goals are connected to our core values described below:

  • Regionalism - The beauty of the Mississippi is what joins us together across our six-county area. Our bridges serve as connectors to our bi-state region. The uniqueness of our communities and our common goal of forward progress acts as the glue that binds us together. Regional prosperity is our shared vision. We know that working together we are stronger. It is in this regional thinking and acting that we have the greatest impact. We are committed to continued partnership to support the advancement of the greater Quad Cities community.
  • Leadership in action - We are present and engaged leaders who lean into problem-solving and offer solutions that have a high impact. Our leadership is about removing barriers that prevent the community from advancing and challenging the status quo. We think BIG and we are willing to support our communities’ shared vision. We support the shared vision of the Quad Cities region with our time, talent, treasure and by developing the next generation of leaders to act boldly with a commitment to collective impact.
  • Dedication - We are committed to the region’s growth and we will work tirelessly to create a community that cultivates prosperity for all who choose to call our region home.
  • Inclusion and belongingness - It is with pride that we welcome individuals from all walks of life into the region. Moreover, we recognize that being a welcoming community is only a first step. We are committed to creating meaningful connections that lead to an inclusive community where all people feel as though they can participate, grow, thrive and lead while being their most authentic self.
  • Responsibility - As a leader and member of the Quad Cities region we understand our role in moving the community forward. We acknowledge that each individual plays a role in molding the future prosperity of the region. With this in mind, we have a strong sense of responsibility in our decision-making because we recognize our choices not only have a personal impact, but also a collective impact with implications for the generations that will follow.
  • Collaboration - Because we are stronger together, we come alongside our fellow community leaders to work together. We recognize our social services, business and industry sectors as one body that forms our comprehensive business community. We coalesce the community around creativity and innovation and we work cooperatively to find solutions to our communities’ biggest challenges.
