Does your company have summer interns? Enroll your interns in InternQC and the Quad Cities Chamber will give them the insider’s guide to the region. While you’re teaching interns about your company and the work skills they’ll need to succeed, the Chamber will show them what the QC has to offer as a place to live!
From sports and recreation to arts and culture, politics and volunteerism, InternQC will round out your intern’s experience by connecting them to other YPs and the easy and exciting lifestyle that is the Quad Cities.
Launched in 2015 as a way to showcase life in the Quad Cities to young talent, the InternQC program has grown significantly each year to help employers attract young professionals to the region and connect them to a network that will help them thrive.
Workforce is the number one issue we hear when speaking to businesses in the region. Nationally, talent has risen to becoming a top concern among employers, and site selectors report that talent availability is now the #1 site location decision-making factor. In today’s talent-driven economy, the competition is fierce, and according to a study by American Institute for Economic Research around 70% of young college graduates decide where to relocate based on quality-of-life factors.
We know the importance talent attraction and retention has on your business, and we want to your interns to fall in love with the region and become connected to a network that will help them feel welcome and thrive. While you showcase potential career opportunities in the region, we will make sure our community makes a lasting impression so that the Quad Cities is top of mind come graduation time and we can win over next-gen talent.
The InternQC program is open to talent enrolled in internships, apprenticeships, and college students. The kick-off event will take place on Thursday, June 6 at TBK Bank Sports Complex.
