Ambassadors are highly-visible advocates for the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce and often serve as the first point of contact for members celebrating their business success through ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings. These Quad Citizens are an extension of Chamber staff who serve as a valuable point of contact within the business community and are available to members as a resource and to help you make connections.

The Ambassador spotlight series is a chance to get to know these outstanding Quad Citizens better.

Meet Mark Carlson, Blaze Restoration

Tell us about your role at your company and how long you've been a Chamber Ambassador?

I've been a Chamber Ambassador for roughly one year and I am the Business Development Director for Blaze Restoration, which means any and all duties as assigned.

What do you love about being a Chamber ambassador?

Running errands for Terri, but ribbon cuttings and events are also enjoyable.

Do you have a favorite experience or memory from your time volunteering with the Chamber?

Following the Annual meeting I played a little prank on Dave McCracken and my payback was quickly choreographed by Rebecca Jordan who is now on my list!

What is your favorite item that you've purchased this year?

Chocolate licorice from "The Licorice Guy."

The zombie apocalypse is coming, who are three Quad Citizens that you want on your team?

1 & 2) Ex-wife and her lawyer, I cannot risk facing them as zombies.

3)    Larry Makoben, he is a slow runner.

Say you’re independently wealthy and don’t have to work, what would you do with your time?

Drive heavy equipment, cut down trees, and golf.

What would we find your doing when you’re not on Ambassador duty?

I’ll try anything once so who knows but it does raise the question of what poor choice did you make that would cross my path?

Do you have any advice for someone who is considering becoming a Chamber member?

The Chamber is a great opportunity to network, make connections, and find helpful resources so attend and experience as many of the functions as possible and see which are the best fit for you and your business.
