Quad Cities manufacturers and employers from the Advanced Manufacturing industry are invited to participate in a focus group from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, April 5, at the John T. Blong Technology Center in Davenport. This is your chance to review and discuss proposed statewide career awareness materials, which will include not only descriptions of various positions, but also career pathways clearly showing how to enter and advance through a wide range of these exciting and fulfilling careers in Iowa. Seats are limited for these employer-only sessions, so register as soon as possible to ensure a space.

The Iowa Department of Education, in support of the Future Ready Iowa Initiative, is partnering with Elevate Advanced Manufacturing and the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) on this project to develop promotional materials to highlight a wide range of high-paying and in-demand careers offered in the Advanced Manufacturing industry in Iowa. Similar projects were completed for the IT and Energy/Utilities industries in 2017 and can be downloaded at SectorPartnerships.EducateIowa.gov.
A final product is set for unveiling and release at ABI’s annual Taking Care of Business Conference scheduled for June 5-7, 2018, in Coralville, IA. Additional information about that event and registration details can be found at www.iowaabi.org and www.elevateiowa.com.
Contact Joe.Collins@iowa.gov or MFarrell@measuredintentions.com for additional information or to provide feedback about this project if unable to attend the session.
