The Quad Cities entrepreneurial community is receiving statewide attention after two teams from the region earned top honors at the Venture School statewide pitchoff. The entrepreneurs behind The Germbot, a new portable floor sanitizing device won first place and Robotic Tank Washing, an idea for a robotic power washing system for industrial and chemical companies placed third. For the past six weeks, nine teams have been working to prove out their business model through the Quad Cities cohort of Venture School.

The ultimate value for each of the Venture School teams is the opportunity to validate their business model. The two winning Quad Cities teams are taking home $3,000 and $1,000 for their respective finishes, along with continued support from the Venture School community mentors and educators.

Six of the nine teams from the Quad Cities Venture School cohort were selected to pitch at the state wide pitch off last week in Iowa City.
