April 7 – Millenials in the Workplace
Millenials are the most studied group in history but do you know what they really want in the workplace? As the fabric of our workforce changes, learning future trends on what employees want in the workplace can help your business attract and retain young talent. But recruiting is only half of the battle, with four generations of employees now in the workforce, finding ways for employees from different generations to work in harmony is critical to building a strong company culture. Amy Kristof-Brown, Chair, Department of Management and Organizations with the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business will share what our future workforce will look like and provide tips on how to effectively manage a multi-generational workforce. April 10 - Illinois Legislative Luncheon
This is the second Illinos legislative luncheon produced by the Chamber this year, providing members an opportunity to connect with state elected officials, advocate for the Chamber’s pro-economy agenda and provide businesses a platform to share concerns directly with elected officials. Register>

April 17 – Illinois Governor’s Address
Governor Bruce Rauner will present his priorities to the Quad Cities business community during a luncheon event to be held at the iWireless Center. Register>
April 19 – Know Your Chamber
Prospective, new, and veteran members have the opportunity to attend an orientation to hear first-hand how your investment helps to grow our region. Whether learning about the organization for the first time or as a refresher, Know Your Chamber is a great place to become acquainted with staff and volunteers, as well as learn the advantages of member-only opportunities.   Meet Your Chamber is a FREE event and lunch is provided. April 13 – Open Coffee: How Atomic Coffee Bar attained their atomic success through Facebook
Find out how the Schillaci brothers brought their unique coffee bar/drive through business model to the Quad Cities region from the great Northwest - marketing their business just through Facebook alone!    If you are looking to amp up your Facebook social media game - this Open Coffee is a must!  And, of course, Atomic Coffee Bar will be providing the awesome coffee! April 6 – Hub Huddle: Plans to Profits – It’s a Team Sport Joe Kehoe, Director, St. Ambrose University Sales Center has a long history in marketing, advertising, and sales, from managing brands for major companies like Coca-Cola and Hanes Corp. to entrepreneurial and international business experience as owner of J. Kehoe Trading Company.  In addition to his work locally as an advertising and marketing consultant, Kehoe helped develop the St. Ambrose University sales major and served as director of its MBA program from 2008-2010.  Kehoe also is an adjunct professor of marketing, advertising and sales at SAU, a position he has held since 2009. Raised in the Quad Cities, Kehoe received his BA from Notre Dame University and his MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta. Joe will review marketing plan components, how the marketing planning process works, the role of sales, sales realities today and how to translate the plan into effective marketing and sales action. RSVP>

April 12 – CAD/CAM Users Group
As technology is constantly changing and evolving, new opportunities will come to the businesses that are nimble and can quickly adapt.  The Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub is forming a CAD/CAM Users Group to accelerate our region’s learning and investment in collaborative design and manufacturing best practices.  The users group will focus on engaged involvement between supplier and customer, enabled by fast and flexible design and manufacturing processes. April 19 – Data Analytics Users Group
Key regional leaders in manufacturing and the Department of Defense supply chain have identified the use of data analytics as an important technology impacting our region's competitiveness. To accelerate our region’s learning and investment, the Quad Cities Manufacturing and Innovation Hub has formed a Data Analytics Users Group for members to discuss and leverage their knowledge regarding this particular technology. April 21 – Hub Huddle: Utilizing Technology to Reduce Costs and Increase Efficiency
Marc Sierra, Design Consultant for Conference Technologies, Inc. has 20 years of experience in customer service, project management and account management, working closely with customers of all sizes to help them become more successful through the use of communication and collaboration technology. Marc will review challenges seen in the manufacturing environment and solutions utilized. RSVP>

April 24 – Augmented & Virtual Reality Users Group
Key leaders in manufacturing and technology have identified AR/VR as an important technology impacting our region's competitiveness.  Hear from local experts on state-of-the-art technology and the best practices for its use.  No matter what your knowledge level, this night will offer an opportunity to build your understanding of this game-changing technology and its business benefits. RSVP>

April 6 - Network @ Night: Putnam Museum The science center and general exhibits will be free of charge and we are offering a 50% discount that night to attendees into our new Beatles exhibit The Magical History Tour. That would be $9 pp for exclusive, after-hours access to the exhibit. Register>

April 11 – Network @ Noon: Following your dreams and the failures that help you get there
Michael Kinney founded Plan for Adventure, a company of outdoor and fitness professionals with a mission to help everyone achieve their fitness and adventure goals. Plan for Adventure is about sharing happiness with the world. They help people overcome that inner voice telling you “NO”, “Can’t”, & “Impossible.”  Michael will share his inspiring story of turning his passion into his business  and why it’s important to support others in achieving their goals.
