Orion, IL, March 24, 2017:  The 126th annual meeting of the shareholders of Orion Bancorporation, Inc. was held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at The Quad City Botanical Center, Rock Island. 

Chairman and CEO James R. Dingman informed stockholders that during 2016, assets grew to $434 million.  The company ended the year with $241 million in outstanding loans, an increase of 6%.  Total equity capital amounts to $48 million or 11.03% of assets. 2016 was a year of record net income, partially the result of experiencing virtually no loan losses. 

Dingman reviewed progress made on a number of topics including the bank’s record earnings, the investment division, InvestORION, new technologies, a new strategic plan and a partnership with iHELP Student Loans.  

The shareholders re-elected Timothy J. Fritz, Jerry L. Goddard and Howard W. Nightingale to the board of directors for three-year terms.  Other directors include, Matthew P. Bollinger, Charles H. Langman, Matthew N. Miller, Daniel J. Wahlheim, Alan F. Wright and James R. Dingman. Howard Nightingale was recognized in honor of his 25th anniversary as a member of the board of directors.

Subsequent to the shareholders’ meeting, the board of directors of BankORION and its parent company, Orion Bancorporation, Inc. promoted Andrea A. Bobb to Vice President, Compliance Officer and Internal Auditor.  In addition, Bryan J. Niers was promoted to Vice President.    

Andrea Bobb joined BankORION in 1999 and previously held positions including Loan Administrative Assistant as well as Assistant Controller. Andrea earned her MBA from Ashford University.  Bryan Niers, lending officer at the Bettendorf branch, joined BankORION in 2013 as an Assistant Vice President with eight years of lending experience. Bryan is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing.      
The board re-appointed the following other BankORION senior officers: James R. Dingman, CEO, Matthew P. Bollinger, President, Timothy J. Fritz, Senior Vice President & Chief Lending Officer, Cindy S. Bender, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Scott A. Gilbraith, Senior Vice President, Larry L. Greim, Vice President & Cashier, Sharon K. Warner, Vice President & Human Resources Director, Emily H. Snell, Vice President (Orion), Mark A. Johnson, Vice President (Cambridge), Mark L. ‘Butch’ McCreight, Vice President (Moline), Kevin T. Schoonmaker, Vice President (Moline), and Janeane M. Minnaert, Vice President (Annawan).
