Reliable, sustainable energy & utilities are a fraction of the cost

Our diverse portfolio of green energy and an abundance of natural resources allows mega manufacturers, global corporations and small businesses to build and operate sustainably and easily uphold the bottom line. Electric rates here are the 5th lowest in the country. Over 88% of our electricity is from renewable sources. Plans are in place for much of the region to provide 100% of customer energy needs from renewable sources by 2025.

MidAmerican Energy, our region’s primary energy provider, has more than 7,300 megawatts of wind energy and 141 megawatts of solar energy capacity in its growing renewable energy portfolio. Through its GreenAdvantage program, which applies to all its electric customers in Iowa, businesses can claim a verified renewable energy amount, which in 2021, was 88.5%.

Constellation Quad Cities Generating Station is the largest carbon-free generator of electricity within 80 miles of the QC. Operating on the banks of the Mississippi River, this long-term nuclear asset provides affordable energy at a capacity factor of 95%, a benchmark of reliability to provide full power every second of every day.

Our region is served by a multitude of natural gas providers and our family of communities is more than connected by the Mississippi River; it is supported by it, too. It is the region’s primary water supply and in abundance. The QC holds the infrastructure and capacity to serve the water and wastewater treatment needs of businesses of any size.

A variety of internet and telecommunications options with access to several different fiber providers on the cross-country backbone from Chicago to Denver allows you to operate like any business in a larger metropolitan area but at a less expensive rate.
