The National Institute of Standards and Technology just released a new handbook now available online to help small manufacturers better understand how to comply with the new Defense Federal Regulations related to cybersecurity. The Manufacturing Extension Partnership was involved in its development.
Dept. of Defense contractors and their sub-tier suppliers have until the end of the year to comply with new Defense Federal Regulations (DFARS Subparts 204.73, 239.76) related to cybersecurity. Failure to comply with the new DFARS regulations can jeopardize a supplier’s ability to receive or keep DoD contracts. They also may be subject to financial penalties for non-compliance after Dec. 31, 2017.
