Let’s talk workforce development! The Eastern Iowa Community Colleges invite you to join them as they bring together business, industry, organizations, and educators to identify and solve systemic workforce challenges in our area’s key industries.
Regional leaders from across advanced manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, and logistics/transportation will gather from 7-10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, to discuss ways to expand and leverage our workforce to build business and economic growth. Held at The Current Hotel, 215 N. Main St., Davenport, the Autumn Super Sector Board Meeting will include a panel discussion and series of industry breakout sessions to prioritize challenges and develop action plans.
This meeting will also provide an introduction to the new Sector Board Strategy and Task Forces as well as bring together the four regional sector boards (healthcare, information technology, logistics/transportation, and advanced manufacturing) to determine focus and goals for the year.
Sector boards are involved in long-term efforts that integrate workforce and economic development strategies. Sector boards focus attention on the needs of multiple employers in a specific industry and serve multiple customers (employers, workers, educational institutions, and agencies). They build in-depth knowledge of the industry and develop solutions to industry issues, changes, and concerns, as well as promote community change that results in positive outcomes for business, industry, and the workforce.
Seats are limited! Contact Paula Arends at firstname.lastname@example.org or (563) 445-3200 x43340 or visit www.regionalsectorboards.org to RSVP.
