Lori Sullivan, RN, HHP and her associate, Jenna Crookshanks, are practicing BioEnergetic Medicine at NutritionWorks Holistic Health in Bettendorf, IA. “Bio” meaning body and “energetic” meaning energy, literally means that BioEnergetic Medicine is a method of tapping into the body’s communication system to find the root causes of sickness and help the body heal itself.
BioEnergetic Medicine has an important basic difference from conventional medicine. In conventional medicine, the aim is to control symptoms through medications or vitamins. If the medication is withdrawn, however, the person returns to illness. There has been no healing. Instead of controlling symptoms, BioEnergetic Medicine is a practice that assists the body to heal and restore itself back to a state of balance, so symptoms resolve themselves.
Lori states that, “Symptoms are often seen as the body breaking down; however, we look at symptoms as messages from the body indicating something is out of balance. As our country becomes sicker and sicker, people are looking for alternative ways of care. BioEnergetic medicine is the medicine of the future because it aims to help the body truly restore health versus just masking symptoms that people are dealing with.”
NutritionWorks Holistic Health is the only BioEnergetic Medicine practice in the Quad City area. Their aim is to help as many people as possible who are seeking alternative forms of health care. Ultimately, their goal is to reform health care in the Quad Cities area through empowering the community to take back control of their health, as well as unite the natural health services in the region.
