Resources to Grow Your Business
Growth Wheel Workshops
In partnership with the Iowa Small Business Development Center at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges and Illinois Small Business Development Center at Western Illinois University – Quad Cities, all Quad Cities Chamber members will have access to a business growth pathway called Growth Wheel. These decision making pathway tools and workshops provide assistance within four key areas: customer relations / marketing and sales, operations, business concept and budget and finances. Through Growth Wheel, businesses will have the ability to identify areas of potential growth and weaknesses, and receive support to address these areas.
These one hour sessions are held the third Wednesday of every month from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Visit our calendar of events to see the schedule of upcoming Growth Wheel sessions. Following the sessions, attendees have the option to receive additional guidance through the Small Business Development Center, or Chamber member businesses that provide services within the areas where assistance is needed.
Promotions and Business Pitch Training
Small businesses report they become members of the Quad Cities Chamber to increase exposure and gain new customers. During the business pitch training, businesses will receive coaching on how to give your elevator pitch, effective networking tips, how to write a press release and work with the media.
These meetings are open to Chamber members only, and are held the first Thursday of every month from Noon - 1:00 p.m. During the training, members will receive a press release template and samples and a local media list.
Market Research and Promotions Tools
In partnership with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, the Quad Cities Chamber offers access to free market research databases including those that may be cost prohibitive for businesses to purchase on their own. Databases include Hoover’s Plus, Acculeads, Plunkett Research, LoopNet, Panjiva and Reference USA. These databases provide businesses with access to proprietary business information, global trade data, consumer demographics and more. Using these databases, businesses can analyze industry trends, identify new growth markets, conduct prospect research and create lists.
Market research database trainings will be held the second and fourth Thursday of every month from Noon – 1:00 p.m. Reserve your spot here.
