The John Deere Classic is a longtime signature event in the Quad Cities that draws thousands to the region each summer and provides an incredibly positive economic impact to the community. It has been deemed “one of the most amazing success stories on the PGA TOUR” according to past PGA TOUR commissioner, Tim Finchem and it consistently ranks as #1 on TOUR in per capita giving and was named “PGA TOUR – Tournament of the Year” in 2016.
The mission of the John Deere Classic, a non-for-profit corporation, is to conduct a PGA TOUR sanctioned professional golf tournament that will contribute positively to the quality of life in our community.
Since the tournaments inception in 1971, the John Deere Classic has delivered over $80 million to regional charities, most of it through its innovative Birdies for Charity program. Every 501(c)(3) organization in our region is eligible to participate in the tournament’s charitable program.
An additional part of the charitable efforts of the John Deere Classic is the bonus match promise. Each year, the tournament promises participating charities a 5% match based on the total dollars brought in by their organization, always striving to do more than the amount promised. Through the development of the Platinum Tee Club, the tournament has been able to award these organizations with a 10% match for the past several years.
The John Deere Classic and the Birdies for Charity program make a huge impact in making our region a more cool, creative, connected and prosperous place. There are many ways to get involved with John Deere Classic and one of the ways you can show your support for their mission is by purchasing tickets for the Lee Brice Charity Concert. Proceeds will go towards the bonus fund that supports the non-profits that are doing important work in our community. Find more details and use the code below to access tickets.
