Over 250 Quad Cities interns are signed up for InternQC and we can't wait to show them why they should choose the Quad Cities as home after graduation.
Workforce is the number one issue we hear when speaking to businesses in the region. Workforce attraction is not uniquely a concern for the Quad Cities. Nationally, talent has risen to becoming a top concern among employers, and site selectors report that talent availability is now the #1 site location decision-making factor. In today’s talent-driven economy, the competition is fierce, and according to a study by American Institute for Economic Research around 70% of young college graduates decide where to relocate based on quality-of-life factors.
How can we expose young talent to the quality of life amenities our region has to offer? That’s where the Chamber’s program, InternQC comes in. Companies in the Quad Cities have already enrolled over 200 interns to participate in the Young Professionals of the Quad Cities yearly summer program, InternQC, the summer-long program that exposes interns to what the Quad Cities has to offer, from sports and recreation to arts and culture, professional development and volunteerism.
We know the importance talent attraction and retention has on your business, and we want to your interns to fall in love with the region and become connected to a network that will help them feel welcome and thrive. While you showcase potential career opportunities in the region, we will make sure our community makes a lasting impression so that the Quad Cities is top of mind come graduation time and we can win over next-gen talent.
The InternQC program is open to talent enrolled in internships, apprenticeships, and college students. The kick-off event will take place on Saturday, June 9 on the Celebration Belle. To view the full InternQC schedule, click here.
