Learn how to win Department of Defense Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) contracts to develop innovative technologies out of the $1.4B annual pool at two upcoming workshops in Ames (Jan. 16) and Cedar Rapids (Jan. 17). Each free Phase 1 proposal workshop will provide an overview of the SBIR program with a focus on DoD and other contract agencies. Participants will learn what it takes to win a DoD SBIR and go through all the sections of a typical proposal.
DOD SBIR contracts provide small businesses (less than 500 employees) with $150K for a Phase I project focused on Proof of concept and $1M in Phase II focused on Prototype development and field testing in the form of contracts. Successful projects will also have Phase II opportunities selling into the DoD. The Dept. of Defense funds a little of everything, including IT and healthcare.
The workshops will be led by Jim Greenwood, who has taught workshops at national SBIR conferences for over 15 years, served as an SBIR reviewer for multiple agencies, and has reviewed over 1,000 draft proposals. Thesw workshops coincide with the Feb. 7, 2018 DoD solicitation deadline.
