Learn how to start a business in Illinois at IL SBDC workshop

Looking to bring your dream of starting a business to life? The Illinois Small Business Development Center will host “Starting a Business in Illinois” from 5-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Western Illinois University – Quad Cities campus, 3300 River Drive, Moline.  The workshop will be held in complex B, room 2102.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Choosing a business name
  • Types of business ownership
  • Licenses and permits
  • Obtaining a tax ID number
  • Business bank accounts
  • Insurance
  • Paying taxes - sales tax, payroll
  • Basic recordkeeping

The workshop is designed for those not already in business.  While there is no cost, registration is required.  Sign up as an SBDC client by Nov. 20 in order to attend at http://ilsbdc.ecenterdirect.com/signup.
