Thousands of Quad Citizens will gather for Red White and Boom on Monday, July 3 to celebrate America’s Birthday. The unique bi-city, bi-state event features the region’s largest fireworks display on the Mississippi River.
Red White & Boom has been a staple Independence Day celebration in the Quad Cities for over a decade. The event was born through the vision of Terry Lunardi, a long-time Davenport restaurateur and community service leader who passed away in August 2009. It was at his insistence that families in the region be treated to a free fireworks display shot over the riverfront. Today, the family friendly event includes entertainment and activities at Schwiebert Park in downtown Rock Island, Modern Woodmen Park and LeClaire Park in downtown Davenport.
