At the Chamber we believe in the power of uniting the region to create, grow, and prosper. One of the key initiatives of the Q2030 Regional Action Plan is to connect the region by coming together and helping one another in new ways to improve attitudes and perceptions. One of the simplest ways to move the needle on this is to celebrate the things happening in our community that are notable. We are thrilled to share in the past month alone, Illinois, the City of Rock Island and the City of Moline received public recognition as great places to live and work.
Rock Island made the list of the nation's "25 Most Affordable Housing Markets, a ranking released by 24/7 Wall Street. This is not the first time Rock Island has been nationally recognized for its housing market. It received a similar ranking in May 2016 when it was named among the communities nationwide where housing is most affordable for military families. The City of Moline was also just recognized as one of the top 10 best places to get a job in Illinois.
Additionally, last week, MoneyRates.com named Illinois fifth in its ranking of the best states in the country to make a living based on cost of living, average wages and income and the employment rate, to name a few credits.
Congratulations Quad Cities!
