The Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub is preparing to educate our area manufacturers and defense industry sectors on the technologies that impact their industries by launching User Groups centered on the areas of Additive Manufacturing (3D printing), Virtual and Augmented Reality, Digital Business to Business Marketing Platforms, Automation and Robotics, Integrated Supply Chain, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing.
Be a part of taking these transforming technologies mainstream in the Quad Cities by participating in a User Group.
Manufacturers today are faced with an onslaught of new technologies, and evaluating the various impacts can be costly and time consuming. Hub User Groups will be charged with developing guidebooks for regional manufacturers to reference as they work to evaluate and implement new technologies, giving this region's largest employment sector a competitive edge.
The User Groups will focus on those new technologies identified in a months-long study by the Chamber, its consultants and members from industry and higher education as having the most significant impact on the regional economy. This is part of a Technology Roadmap - a tool showing where our region should direct its technology resources. The technology guidebooks will be completed by fourth quarter of 2017.
The first User Group, on Additive Manufacturing is coming up this Thursday, January 26 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Blong Technology Center. There is also a User Group focused on Augmented and Virtual Reality on Tuesday, February 7 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the ATEEC Center.
