Davenport, Iowa – Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has joined a national organization of independent, regional blood centers known as the National Blood Collaborative (NBC). NBC, established in 2012, now includes member centers that serve hospitals in 35 states and collect, process and distribute more than one million blood components annually.
The collaborative is focused on developing innovative business initiatives to benefits its members, hospital partners and the communities they serve. In announcing MVRBC’s membership, Wendy Trivisonno, NBC President, stated, “NBC and its members are excited to have such a progressive and community oriented blood center join our organization. NBC’s growth opportunities align perfectly with MVRBC.”
MVRBC CEO Mike Parejko agreed, saying, “NBC is a great fit for our Blood Center. This collaboration allows us to maintain our independence as a community-based blood center even as we find new opportunities through NBC. We are now positioned to increase the diversity of our services, add new revenue streams, and to enhance the service we provide for patients and hospitals in both the local and national healthcare continuum.”
