Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds will hold a public Future Ready Iowa Roundtable in the Quad Cities at the Rogalski Center on the campus of St. Ambrose University on April 1, 11 am - 12:15 pm, to continue a statewide conversation about how to close the workforce skills gap. The specific focus of the roundtable will be on overcoming barriers to employment.

Talent attraction and retention is often cited as a challenge in our region. It is a key component of the Q2030 Regional Action Plan, which addresses it from many angles. This roundtable is a great opportunity to learn more about what Iowa is doing to strengthen the talent pipeline to ensure students and workers have the career opportunities they deserve and that business and industry have the skilled employees they need to be competitive.

The goal of Future Ready Iowa, which is an initiative made possible by a grant from the National Governors Association, is that 70 percent of Iowans in the workforce should have education and training beyond high school by 2025. To attend the Future Ready Iowa Roundtable with Gov. Branstad on April 1, please register today.
