The Rock Island Arsenal managed $12 billion in contracts last year, with the large majority being fulfilled for projects around the globe.Major General John Wharton, Commanding General Army Sustainment Command and Mission Commander, Rock Island Arsenal, stressed the global nature of work RIA does during a recent presentation to area executives.MG Wharton discussed that RIA is home of U.S. Army Logistics which include supply chain management and contracting functions,and as such is responsible for ensuring that soldiers have what they need when and where they need it. RIA is historically known for being a factory, but it's much more - it supports all joint forces. The Quad Cities is integral to the success of RIA, and MG Wharton thanked the community for its support.
